How soon after the young are out and flying around should I clean out the nest boxes ? Not sure if the young are still camping in there at night, will try to watch tonight and see if they go in there. Trouble is the sandflies and mozzies chase you inside just on dark thanks to all our recent rain. There is some nest building going on again, not sure if it is the same pair or another pair.

I wouldnt be in a hurry to clean the boxes with finches , they are pretty good housekeepers and really I dont touch mine till winter unlike parrots that I have to tend to during and after clutches .
Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

Ok thanks, might let them go for a bit and just keep an eye on them. I thought if they didn't use the ones that have already been used again I might clean them then.
