the green cheeks are the smallest and quietist of the conures ...had to think about noise with the copycat quarrions that live here The breeder put them a double wooden transport box for us to bring them home , all the way fro Bathurst to home over 2 hours they tapped their beaks in turn like they were sending morse code ....put them in the quaranteen cage and the boy danced and sang till the sun went down , very entertaining little birds .

Has been a problem in the past with them, but doesn't seem to be as prevelant now. I lost my first hen after about 4 clutchs in 18 months, they were $4000 a pair back then, but they can have large clutches 6-7 eggs not uncommon for a good hen. The only problem was, I went halves with a freind who took the first clutch & incubated, hatched 4 out of 6, reared 3 & put them in with Black Cap Lorries who soon decapitated them, the next clutch went to another freind to rear as I didn't have the time, perants hatched 5 from 6, they were using Vetafarm H/R mix, all chicks dead before they were half grown. The next two clutches I reared myself 5 young out of 6 for both, all reared to independance, but by the time I sold them I only got $500 each.
PS wouldn't put them in with the Quarrions, they end up killing them when they want to go down.
I have them in the suspended on their own , those beaks look look like they would draw blood .Im keeping up the fresh food and so long as we dont get another cold snap I think she will be OK with the egg , one of them was in the nest box tonight so it looks like they have settled in OK .
l will have to find out what HR formuls you use as I use the vetafarm neocare which is suppose to be different to the old one ( should do some homework on that )the quarrions grow well on it .
Cant wait to HR the green cheeks they seem to be playful like the Lorries .
