well after just spending way too much time in the rain doing birds I have decided its time to get a flat pack finch aviary , dont think could handle another build from scratch just want these bloody birds out of these cages and in an aviary .... off to Bunnings after work , hope they give a good staff discount on aviarys.

Hey Jay, as justdeb said, you will soon. we have got two good ready made aviaries second hand at reasonable prices. On Gumtree. something to keep in mind as an option. Bunnings had some cheap ones but not suitable for finches as no safety doors.

No safety doors but the bird netting is proving to be a good substitute , Ive seen some awesome aviarys in ebay and on gumtree but the cost of freight to here just makes it not worth while .
Spose a safety door could be added to the flat pack one , might look into that .

We looked at safety door option when buying the aviaries we have. To buy safety door new, it would have cost us $250! + the aviary!!!! so for us it wasn't viable.

With discount they start at 250 for a fowl house 1500 x 1500 which will need a side window thingy added , then they jump to 440 for the same thing with 2 side windows , thats in the 1500 x 1500 range with a half decent size door .
Am going to do some surfing to see what else is out there .
