Hi guys and gals, I have been otherwise occupied playing with buildings and planes lately and I note the amount of smiles have increased but can someone explain the significance of the bird images below a large number of the posts I am now seeing?
Since last I was paying attention to the forum I am now the proud owner of two fledged Orange Breasteds. After a year and a half of doing nothing the parents seem to now be regulars at producing three chicks with two only surviving. May have to start selling them off if they make this regular for this breeding "season".

all the little bird icons are from this site:
http://www.finchbreederdatabase.com/phpBB3/
you have to create an account (free) and select what birds you have. its a brilliant online records keeping site, provided by ikhom (who is a member on here too).
i think i might have to post a topic with instructions on how to do it at some stage, had a few people ask me how to

yep like spanna said - go check it out John, excellent site makes record keeping so easy!
you can choose whether or not to have them in your signature. if you choose to, it's all on the Ikhom site.
also all the instructions are there

John,
The idea was to display the actual birds that person has in stock. Every time you change your records in the database the system update your signature. If I add a new bird the signature will be updated at the next request, or if I mark the birds as deceased or sold the icon that represented that bird will be gone. There are many icons already in the system, and if you can't find something that you have, just ask and I will add it usually in under 48 hours. Some species have over a dozen different icons (Gouldians and Zebra Finches) that you can select from.
This database is a work in progress, so if you or anybody else has some ideas that can benefit the site just let me know. If you have any questions ask me.

Hi ikhom, love the icons! I'm sure this would be a real PITA to do, but it would be very cool to get a tool-tip pop up with the species name/sex when mousing over each of the icons in a signature.

Ikhom's site is
brilliant
I would be lost without it. I use it for all my birds, I love it when you can print off a pedigree of a bird and see colour pics of the parents, grandparents and great grandparents. Such a help to have a visual when trying to determine which breeding line a particular head or chest colour comes from.
I find people that come to buy a bird seem impressed too when they can see a pedigree, just like they would get with a dog.
I use the site nearly every day

I'm going to look into it. I know that I can do it on my website with some modification, but I don't know how to implement it here at AFF.MadHatter wrote:Hi ikhom, love the icons!
