Just been out to feed my quails their daily chives, endive, lettuce, and red clover sprouts :)
just wondering what greens & vege other people feed to their birds. I also feed lebanese cucumber, yellow squash, cabbage, zucchini, carrot and cherry tomatoes to my birds when we have them. it'll also be much more regularly available when we get the vegey garden set up and we grow it ourselves :)
By the way, anyone with quails, I recommend regular feedings of chives, they love them!!

Anything that us humans have , this time of year they will get less cooked vegies ...peas , corn , cabbage etc and start to get more raw stuff and whats seasonal at the moment .
I do a parrot salad and the finches get the same only finely chopped or processed in the chopper , the last salad had celery , corn , apple , kiwifruit , capsicum and they always get buk choy or wombok in a separate feed bowl .
It changes each time I hit the fruit / veg shop as to what is in season and cheaper.
The ends of the human salads are given to them also cucumber , tomato , little lettuce etc . Oh and they like Harris Farm mango vinagrette with the salad too  NAH joshin ya.

ah yes forgot to mention I give them the Lowe's greens mix (thawed peas, cubed carrots, corn, spinach blended)
Also give them Buk-Choi
sounds interesting Jusdeb, something to try!
also I give them their carrot shredded, cucumber diced for the quail and sliced for the finches.
 lol @ deb yes mine prefer Caesar Salad sauce, but they will eat it without if they MUST
and the cherry tomatoes halved so they can get at both flesh and seeds without having to peck through the skin.
