Just got back from weekend away in Bridgetown :cloppy: South West W.A. for the Blues Festival, :parp: great weekend of no sleep and Blues and mixed music. Saw some lovely little Robins (i think or similar) in trees near our campsite. Where also awoken most days to the chorus of Kookaburras and Magpies. Didn't know Kookaburras sung at 3am at night though. Anyway my daughter managed to feed and water finches successfully while i was away.

Always good to see them in thier natural enviroment.I just got back from the gramps was feeding crimson rosellas and sulphur cockies and long billed corellas by hand all weekend having the rosellas and cockies sitting on our heads etc.. Hardly natural behaviour but nice enviroment. Also plenty of Kangas and Sambar deer feeding on the edge of the caravan park.

Sounds like a fun interaction though, have a park near here where can do same. I also feed the Pink and Greys and 28's in a yard feeder if they wish. Far from tame but nice to see hanging around, also have bottlebrushes, wattles and a native frangipani which brings in different birds. Always nice to have activity in the yard.

:urgh: Good luck to you getting away for a bit of r & r ...Ive been busting for even a weekend ( five hours drive ) at the beach but never happens , have even had to cancel bookings ...if its not birds its kids or grandkids or work or dogs or some other hiccup .
Best get away for us is a few days out at Burrendong Dam which would still mean 160klm round trip every day to check birds.
