Brilliant program, Ive been using it since I got the gouldians, it makes so much more sense when you can see the visual colour along with the splits and what being split can do to a colour. Wouldnt be without it.

until earlier this year I really enjoyed using the forcaster for gouldians.
then I had a spanner thrown in the works and now I just go with the pot luck theory  .
must give it credit though it is accurate 98% of the time

I just realised there is no option to select "Yellow-back recessive". The yellow on the forecaster is a different mutation.

Cranberry I don't think they have Australian Yellow (recessive yellow) overseas so he probably hasn't come across it.

The offspring preview pix in this version make it much better than the old one.

Hi All,

In this program it claims that if you put a normal to a split bird 50% will be normal and 50% will be split...can anyone confirm that they have achieved this in their breeding...I was always of the belief that this pairing would produce all normals...a split pair to another split would produce 25% color, 50% split and 25% normal....I know i'm just getting back into the bird game, but I wouldn't have thought that the inheretance mode would have changed...cheers, Paul

Law of averages at work again here.
You could get a full clutch of normal looking birds and some would be split some wouldnt.
You could get a full clutch of normal looking birds and all could be split, or none
Those figures quoted in the forecaster are really just an indication of what is possible with any given pair. Over a large amount of clutches/time Im sure the figures would pan out.

You can almost guarantee whatever combination in a bird that you are wanting will take several clutches to get ;)
