Deb coopex is just permethrin concentrate. I use it in a liquid form called permoxin for my dog....treats him and kills all the ants. Also nails fleas and ticks a such. I can definatly say either is very safe. The only animal permethrin kills big time is cats! But hey i guess whos complaining around here. We have 2 cats tho so yea i gotta be cautious with it around them. Lucky for me our cats arent aloud outside so they dont hurt anything.

Just reading the back of a Coopex packet I got at Bunnings the other day in Sydney ($10/25g packet of 25g/kg permethrin) and as far as toxcity it says:"Dangerous to fish and other aquatic organisms. DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers, or waterways with the chemical or used containers. Dangerous to bees and reptiles." The cat should be safe but not so it's feas and maybe it makes a good wormer too!

Well at the moment the only cage that has been persistantly affected by ants is the suspended cage holding the conures , I guess the fruit attracts them , anyhoo no ants at the moment since the suspended legs are 4 inches deep in water and we all know ants dont like water .
Sooooo ant problem is on hold while we worry about rising water , mosquitos and keeping the other aviaries dry
if its not one thing its blah blah blah
