Yep they are going to go through the roof ...too much weather affected seed on the market this season ans not enough quality seed .
Wonder how many breeders / keepers are going to be looking into pellets / crumbles as a cheaper alternative to seed /supplements ?

Your a STAR
I am about to order seed but have been fiddling around.I had forgotten about the possibilities of crops being damaged
Your warning is warranted and tomorrow it will be done.
THANK YOU

Actually rang him today and ordered Finch Mix for my mate and Budgie Mix for me.
Price per 20kg bag is $22 inc. GST This is for a pallet load of 54 bags
The price would most likely be similar for lesser quantities but we get that amount as the freight cost gets spred further
I have a freight content on top of this.
The budgie Mix is for me as it doesn't have any black filler seeds and has Canary seed in the mix.
The seed merchant/grower lives in Leeton which should be quite reasonable in freight rates to SA or Melb.

The predicted price hike was broadcast on a rural report on the radio ....some clever googling should give better details of what will be more costly to buy this season and also what seeds didnt set due to too much rain so affecting next harvest.

Usually the price wont go up until the wholesalers run out of last seasons stock. They would have just harvested it I would have thought, Maybe they were about to,For their sake as well as ours I hope they got most of the grain harvest in.I suppose W.A Had a bad Harvest as well.

The price will go up for sure but in saying that not all grain is grown in the spring/summer period with the rain and floods around the moisture profile in the ground is looking great for Autumn/Winter plantings.
