I have a pair of bh gouldians. I'm planning on buying more pairs.
I've seen pairs which consisted of a red headed male and black headed female gouldians, what colour would they produce, should I just stick to pairs of the same colour

From what I gather, keeping same head colours together is the better option. The logistics of that are something we are trying to work out as we speak! we have two pairs of YH and 3 pair of RH. Had to pull the YH out and put them in breeding boxes to prevent head colours mixing. Some people do mix head colours but the result can be unpredictable and make it harder to sell your birds. Hope this helps.

100% red headed hens, 100% red headed cocks split for black.
Yes try and pair same head colours together where possible.
