feeders 001.jpg
This feeder is great holds at least 3 kilo of seed and has a huge drawer to catch husks

This one sits in a cat littler tray (new) and catches the seed that the birds flick out of the hopper. Now I have the quail the tray sits on the floor and the hopper is hung above.

Ive made a feeder just like Debs above for the new aviary (which arrived earlier today :whoohoo: )

Heres what I use,the downside I have is I use a scoop to empty them,Only every few weeks though.Pluses it feeds through the wire and no need to cut the wire.My Dad and I have bought maybe 80 odd plus off these and pay now $35 each with no catcher as we use 20 l drums underneath.Single they sell for $50 plus.

Just had a thought about your hoppers gomer, would it be possible to cut and use the barrel a different way so that it could be emptied using the screw cap?(assuming it has one)

I Like the idea Diane,But the feeders are wider then the drums.Maybe a different drum or some sort of similar system in the bottom would work. :?:
