Has anyone ever heard of 'the softbill and native pigeon society of australia'?
I've just been reading through a very interesting article by Stephen Hale in Issue 17 of the Just Finches magazine, and he makes a reference to it at the end of the article.
Is this that softbill group that people say is really hostile to outsiders?
I would like to know more about softbills, chats in particular, and these softbill groups are exactly what I'm looking for - if I could find any reference to anything like it anywhere on the web. Which i can't.

Been a member for a few years, they put out a bi-monthly newsletter much the same as our on here, but printed, as well as some classifieds. Not sure but I think Gary Mac might be a member as well, all of the members I have come across are all very helpful & willing to help out were ever possible. If you need some contact details, send me a PM & I''ll get them for you.

Are you looking for a contact who is a member of the Sydney based Softbill Club or the one in WA
My personal view was the WA based people were rather stand offish and in splinter groups.
The Sydney one didn't seem as formal but alot more helpful.
I will make a phone call for you.

Have to agree whole heartedly with VR1ton and Orix's comments - The Native Softbill and Native Pigeon Group are most helpful - they go out of there way to help.
