Such conclusions infer that males don't suffer in these relationships and are responsible for their own and thier victim's/partner's suffering. It may be politically incorrect but I think they are reading just a little bigotry into the results. If these less than "perfect" relationships didn't exist their theory might be more plausable. The fact that they are so widespread indicates that the pros far out-weigh the cons.

Probably just a page filler "human interest" article, got to fit the humans in there somewhere.
Or it could be they get bigger grants if they can relate research back to humans!
