I kinda like it the way it is and dont really think it needs improving , the people make this forum what it is however Deb does like a chat and a chat room sure would keep me out of trouble in that box below ....
Yes agreed Eorix the new owners will need time .

Chat room and chat boxes are a good idea as such, but any information regarding the birds eventually disappears.
Just quietly.....that why Mickp gives those gentle reminders

Totally understand .... although my little snippet of dribble is probably best to just dissappear into cyberspace .

Greetings. One of the main aims to improve this forum is, in my view, trying to increase the traffic in the first instance. I am a regular visitor and contributor to one of the larger Dutch forums. As I write this at 22.30 hours in the evening Dutch time, there are 247 persons on line. The highest number recorded was 1304 on the 20.01.2011.
This Dutch forum has a very popular topic of photograph's made by its members. Many people on this forum will have photography as an additional hobby.
In due course we could have such a topic and members and visitors could place their photographs there. It does not necessarily have to be birds as the subject matter. Just another idea to try and inprove the traffic on this site. And maybe one day a spellcheck for foreigners? Cheers, Case

We have the means to enable the Forum to grow rapidly.
What needs to be known is what capacity we have available to us and if more is needed, what would the cost be.
Once this is known, those involved who are not IT smart can then maybe step in and try to solve any hurdles.
The site is over the growth hump already and can be promoted without to many hurdles.
The other consideration is those people who are involved in the every day control.
With the people involved more progress will be experienced.

No suggestions, just congratulations to all involved for the sterling job that is being done.

One thing that annoys me somewhat about AFF is the way that hyperlinks take you out of the forum instead of opening the link in a new tab / window like all the other forums I'm on do. Would be real nice to keep the original thread and the "distraction" going at the same time.
That said, it's a great place to drift in to and feed our addictions

That is easily fixed by this:

One of the mods will need to make this change.

I'm one of the oldest members on here...joined 26 minutes before Mick P
and I've seen it come along great from small beginnings. The basic forum is fine and needs very little to improve it.Well done you lot.
I ought to post more but I'm on several others and can't always find the time.
