Well i checked one of my nesting boxes yesterday in one of my new cabinets and that yellow gouldian of mine that i was unsure of being a hen has babies in her nest :)

Out of all my gouldians i didnt expect her to be first to have young. My other 3 pair of blackheads have only just gotten there black beaks on the hens. So hopefully all of them follow suit. Tell you what tho theyve been realy slow to get started this year!

Ahwell should have some nice young out of these ones and its a nice way to start the gouldian season.
Also the painteds and longtails are all nesting so im happy there.....been a weird year.

My Gouldians have been slow to start this year as well.

I have 4 pairs together so far but have not seen any indication of nesting as yet.

In regards to painteds my 10 pairs look like they have stopped for the season. I still have Parsons, Blue Face, Jacarini's nesting and my Green singers have started to lay as well.

Similar experience here. I have 2 pairs - both have been in and out of nestboxes for weeks but no eggs. Very strange!

Good luck and best wishes for all your Gouldian breeding. Mine are just about winding it up for the season here in Canada.

I thought Aus was going into the fall and also finishing up... no? Am I confused? :purplex:

Yes it is the start of Autum, but Aussie weather and Canadian weather are somewhat different. (both being big countries it varies from coast to coast too) Mine have just been moved from one avairy into another so they can breed in peace. And already the jockeying for nests and mates has commenced, and the grass is being moved into the first nest. And mother has her first hatchlings, from one of her established pairs and eggs from another established pair. Her new pairs are still working things out.

Thanks guys. Yea gomer shes a nice marked hen. Shes bred with a bh wb cock of mine that i bred last year. So very very happy. Also last night a second pair just started sitting so it seems its finally all happening.

Hey mick have you bred many red cheek cordons this year? I lost my cock from last season and buzzard sorted me out with a very young new cock for me. Im looking forward to breeding some of them.
