1) my bird was in excellent condition apart from the fact that it was dead!
2) it had no external or internal parasites
3) I seem to be able to determine the sex of shaft-tails OK.

Well I won't be trying it again. Post mortem report from the Univerity of the Philippines Veterinary teaching laboratory came back as cause of death unknown which is unsurprising but I did find out some useful information:
1) my bird was in excellent condition apart from the fact that it was dead!
2) it had no external or internal parasites
3) I seem to be able to determine the sex of shaft-tails OK.
