Not sure what it is but have seen similar ones out here,they are in a different family to average crickets and grasshoppers.Bit more aggresive and i think they are predatory.Will get it identified if no one knows what it is.

Think your very close Buzzard.Had one land on my camp chair when i got up to stoke the fire (bout 350 ks north),it really had a go at me when i tried to flick it off.All sorts of critters turn up in these wet years.Amazing !
