Saw the second bird a few years ago whilst camping at Cape Crawford (Heartbreak Hotel) in the NT. It's a Spinifex Pigeon. They are a beautiful looking bird and the ones in the camp were tame as. Could sit there all day and just watch them... and drool.

I think the fawn was a wild bird.A work mate said they had one hanging around a few years ago as well. Not sure an aviary escapee would survive at the moment due to the numbers of birds of prey that are about. Also doubt there are many pure fawn type birds in captivity here. The Spinnies are tame as chooks and i had to do some work in this area this week and looking behind me i noticed a little trail of Spinnies following along behind. They are a beautiful bird but apparently not so easy to breed in captivity.
