Ive been keeping an eye on the temperature just lately and its all over the place! For example yesterday at 7am the temp was 10.1 this morning the temp was 20.1, no wonder the birds cant decide what to do with regard to breeding.
The temps were taken from a gauge that is permanently in the aviary. The aviary has a blind that is lowered overnight.

Has anyone else had wildly differing temps and did it have any effect on the birds?

After 50 plus days over 30 deg, today is 23deg and raining , am waiting to see how it affects the young in nests.

Its been a mixed bag year all up with the floods and the extreme humidity ( not used to that in Dubbo ) . As Ive said before Ive had no breeding season apart from my Grey Pied Red Rumps with young soon to fledge at this time of year .
Nights are chilly already but the days are still nice , not seeing any difference in the birds except maybe they are bulking up a bit for winter .
Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

Temperature here is on average 3-4 degrees different to where Bushranger is. (Hotter of course.) And My main avairy has nests and singing going on everywhere but only that one Cuban chick has actually flown. Quail has 5 littlies but. Gouldian avairy has lots of chick noise coming out of RH and OH normals nests, but YH PB YB not settling down to nest. Will take down and put up different nests (more like those that are taken) Quail there hatched on very hot dry day and lost the lot. So my lot seem happy.
