Fusion Bar on Gouldians (Pic Added)

Do others on here no much about the Red Fusion Bar found on some Gouldians??

I read alittle bit about it in my gouldian book: A guild to Gouldian Finches and their Muatations, and after having a look at my RH/WB/GB Cock it seems he has a red line. in the book it only really mentions Wild type gouldians having the fusion bar and that they are rare to find now in the domesticated viarity.

Does anyone have gouldians with the fusion bar and if so do their whitechest gouldians have it????

i had the fusion bar in most of my gouldians when i kept them . over time some traits were bred out of a lot of captive stock trying to breed the perfect bird . but recently they have tried to restore the red fusion bar and its not that rare any more .you have to remember things can change over a few good seasons from when the book was printed........pete p.s never had more than a pair of white chests can't recall the fusion bar but the breast colour was almost a baby blue colour.... :)

As pete said, they're pretty common these days as a lot of breeders are working on this trait. Almost all of my yellow back white breasts have a distinct red line, yet only one of my normals show it.

I have only seen a few pics aswell.They are not common around the traps here.

Il take a picture 2moro of my bird.

Il have to have a look at all my gouldians 2moro to see if any others have it.

I assummed not many breeders had them around vic, as knowone iv met have ever metioned the fusion bar. il have to do some more research

Hey Chris, yeh i spoke with Peter last yr, just asking how he breeds his goulds, asked about his aviaries etc, and i just emailed him last night asking what he knew of the Red Line and how he pairs his Red Line Birds to produce more, so it will be intresting to hear from him.
