Hello everyone, new to site and just want to say hello. Only bird my family has ever owned was a Turquoise parrot that lived and flew around the house. Unfortunately our beloved bird passed away due to tragic circumstances and is sadly missed. Once I get my licence, I intend to purchase another Turquoise Parrot in yellow if possible. Can anyone recommend where I can get one, preferably female. Live in the Liverpool area. Just purchased 2 Gouldians, 1 male and 1 female. The avery I have is 1.8m tall x 1m x 800mm wide and sits under my pergola on a concrete floor. Is this good enough? At night I cover the avery with bed sheets to stop the drafts and coldness. Hope to learn more and converse with other people.

hi and welcome.
My main feedback re your question is whether bedsheets are the most effective material to keep cold and drafts out. Maybe a tarpaulin might block out more drafts/wind? but I am fairly new at this too, I am sure you will get better info from the more experienced members.

I would suggest thick clear plastic sheets that you can buy from hardware shops, you can mount this to a wooden frame and attach this to your Avery, best part is you can make it to any size you wish. I use this method on my averies lets in all the light and very minimal wind. I leave this on over autem through to spring.
