In a rush and cant find the post where I was suppose to put this pic anyhoo Im trying to find out what this plant is please ..........

Hairband is for size only , yes I know a coin is better but it all went into Salvos tin .

its got me, have seen it before or something similar, but cannot think of the name as most grasses look the same but the only difference is the inflorescence, where did you get it from...

Beside railway line 17klms east of Dubbo . I lop the Cypress Pines there for the birds .
This tiny plant grows in one patch of very sandy soil with another grassy type plant thats a bit bigger ( need a shovel for that one ).
The patch is about 20 metres big and then the landscape goes back to pines , gums and weeds .

I only found it because the 4WD track has washed out and the 4WDs have made a new track through this little area , these plants wont be there very long once more people use the track.

Looks like Kangaroo grass, need a better look at the flower though

Ill try and get a better picture of the stemmy bits , they look more like a seed head than a flower .

it was one of my options as i have only seen kangaroo grass in pics , either a native fescue or phalaris, looks like nut grass but is a weed here that grows in wet soil, but with out a got flower pic i am stummped....pete
