Hello everybody
Just getting back into birds.
At school I had a mixed aviary which was hopelessly overcrowded and didn't do very well, kept some birds again at uni and bred java sparrows, weiros, kakarikis and fisher's lovebirds. Then work, travel, family, apartment living took over and lost interest in birds.
Was recently driving past Birdworld and popped in to have a look and rekindled the interest. Due to space constraints and fussy neighbours can only keep a smallish aviary and intend to have gouldians, but the recent wet weather we have had in Perth worries me.
So I wish to have a customized aviary built to protect them from the cold and will be on the forums to gain some advice. Also in the process of designing our dream home and wish to incorporate an enclosed atrium for birds, and will again be asking lots of questions
Regards
Fraser

HI Fraser
Welcome to the forum. Glad to hear to want to build an atrium as part of your new house. It will be awesome. I have an aviary in the front section of my house. It was a fernery when we moved in over 30 years ago and about 2 years ago I decided to turn it into an aviary. I just love it and everybody that sees it loves it too. If I were building it from scratch I think the only change I would make would be the glass windows. These days you probably don't have to have aluminium sections so I would have just sheer glass panels. If you go to "Introduce Yourself" and look for Tbird on page 2 around February 12th this year you will see some pictures that I posted. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
