This is a follow on from this topic, as I mentioned my dog was at the vets.

Vet called about my dog, nothing showing in her blood results, all in the normal range except the protein which he said he expected with her not eating or drinking so she would be dehydrated. So she is in staying overnight and is on fluids for 24 hours. Everything was checked, liver function, potassium levels, kidneys, pancreas, and probably others but he rattled them off so quick I didn't get them all written down.

The white gums was the first thing I looked in case of poisoning for but she looked just the same as the other dogs, but I was still worried.
Hope she's ok tomorrow.

Shortly after making my first post the vet rang and told me that Lily was worse since she had been on fluids. At her regular checks he and the other vet there had, at times, been able to hear something that sounded like a heart murmur, he then said he didnt think 24 hours on fluids would do her any good at all, if anything it might make things worse judging by how bad she looked now. He felt her heart was failing and leaving her on fluids might mean she would pass away overnight. We discussed euthanasia.
I asked him not to do anything till I got there, Im only 10 minutes away from the surgery.
When I got there she looked awful, more spaced out than before and clearly breathing was now a problem for her as she sounded all rattled. The vet said it looked like her heart was failing and I would be doing the right thing to let her go.
I stayed with her.

So sorry BB. It must have been very difficult for you. At least she didn't suffer.
