red and green faced parrot finches
I assumed you meant red faced parrot finches as you did say "red AND green" not" red OR green "..easy typo .

Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

Leave it at 9 individuals or even it out at 5 pair.Ditch that calculator.Beyond what you already have in there, what happens when they breed ?(if thats what you want to do) A few pair with 4 or 5 in the nest and suddenly the aviary will seem a whole lot smaller. With only a few good pairs in there you would regularly see a total of 10 to 20 birds in the aviary.

I stand corrected. My first post did say that - by mistake but never the less I did type it.
Bit of a shame about the amount of birds I can have. Looks like I may have to have a re-think. I had better steer clear of pet shops/breeders and google.

for your small one???? way too many!!
and I thought you said you hate foreign finches?
NEVER mix black throats and longtails.
get one of the two, your double bars, ruddies & plumheads and see where you go from there.
I'm not trying to bring you down, just start small and then expand ;)
