Nathan its a bit hazy jay may be onto something hopefully someone more experianced then myself will comment. Hey jay do u ever think imprinting could be used to an advantage with blue caps if you wer to forster a few generations under red cheeks? Im not condoning it just a thought?? maybe the young would grow into easier and better parents? Well just an idea.

I dont like the idea of forstering but if it helped who knows.

According to RK they are all of the Uraeginthus family.

A very good set up indeed. Thanks to Di and the breeder in question for putting the pics up and allowing it. The double roof idea sounds like a good way of insulating against both cold and heat and as an extra, if you get a hole in one you have a safety window to fix it in.

Nathan they cannot all be sub species, one would have to be the dominant or original species.
Hope someone comes along who can answer the question.

a great looking setup!! and some great looking birds too :)

just to clear things up, the cordons are separate species, not sub-species. they are all of the same genus, but not species. a quick wiki search: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uraeginthus

True Buzz :)
But yes, Ben, I think it might be an interesting experiment... but best wait until we breed more blue caps in case something goes wrong ;)
