After discovery the Yellow Emblemas building a nest between the wired window and a reed screen we decided to put a nest in the same area only above the window and guess what ?

Yep serious nest building and lots of piggy backing  On a roll folks and about bloody time ... pity its Winter but what the hay :D

And of course I didn't want them breeding in their temporary home , was waiting to put them into new unfinished aviary

Had to go back and put a wire frame around the nest to stop the sticky beaks AKA Bob and Ollie the hand reared Quarrions from interfering ..... all good now , novelty has worn off , and the Emblemas are busy building again .

Not quite ... When I sold the finches off I couldn't part with this pair . Love my little Yellow buggers .

Hope they do me proud so I can swap the bubs for some more Finchy friends .

Deb I just freeze them makes it easier but it really does send erm bonkers. Been buying a big bag of lucerne a mixing white feathers in there aswell a they build in no time. I need to do a termite raid a freeze a whole heap of them aswell. I know a guy who breeds heaps of blue caps all on frozen dead termites.

My wife's upset about them in our freezer tho lol
