Sorry St Helena I didnt see your post before ..
They are very vocal but not loud so the noise isn't unpleasant as for husbandry I really cant answer that question .
I just hope that I have enough experience to keep them healthy and happy .

When they breed . . and they will . . keep an eye on the nest base (untreated shavings, available at most produce merchants is great) . . because they usually have four young, shavings can become very wet very quickly, and need regular replacement

They will not be concerned by this . . Try to make the last change before the young are at the point of fledging, lest they leave home early
