well since its winter and i lost 1 cockatiel, so i decided to put all my birds into cages untill spring and i put them in the garage and close the door to stop any breeze going in.
my female rosella is in a tall cage,2 pairs of tiels are in 2 cages and my 4 budgies and 1 cockatiel is in a cage(this is temporey). i have been put the birds outside in the sun for a while and then i bring them back in for the night. so yestie arvo i was sitting near the window playing my ps3 and my female rosella was going crazy i thought it was normal i turned to the tv and look back and there was a massive cockatoo on her cage she went nuts so did the others, i thought about jumping through the fly screen window but i did not want to pay for the damage so i bolted out side to scare it away ,the rosella and the other became calm and settled adround me and i took them inside for the night.

its the closest i have ever been to a cockatoo

as my brother stated in his post he lost alot

They are very impressive birds up close .
As much as I love having them visit my yard I have to shoo them away just in case they infect my parrots with PB+F Disease which is rife around here in the wild cockies .

Do you think it may have been an escaped bird looking for a feed ?
