G'day been a long time since I posted hear. Well tonight I got home from Circus Oz to find my Hen dead. Only this arvo she had laid an egg. Then around dinner time she was sleeping in the nest. Got home and there she was Miss Beep on the bottom of the cage. My pair never did get young. But they were just great friends.

Now what can I get to keep my male Zebb company ?

Cheers Scott

You could always get a new hen if you wanted or you could get another cock zebra finch, just for company. If you get the new hen I'd just take the nest out if you dont want them to breed.
It's always tough seeing a beloved animal like a zebra finch pass away isn't it, I had a male zebra pass away a few days ago from old age. And he was a really good bird as well.

Sorry for your loss Scott . Maybe a new girl will help cheer up the little fella.

I would look at another Zen sex won't matter unless you want them to breed.

After burring my hen under a camellia bush. I gave the cage a really good clean, then went over to Nunawadding birds or what ever it's called. He suggested another hen & luckily he had one. She is a similar fawn tone but much smaller & she took a liking to Mr Squeaky. But he isn't so sure of her & snapped back. They are now slowly settling in. So maybe this time around seeing she is more outgoing I might get some young ? Having a bunch of young isn't necessary as they are house pets. But it would be really cool to watch a family grow.

Glad to hear it, you will probably be getting some little squeakers sooner rather than later then.
