thanks Redwing, will see if we can get it from the library. there is some kind of calendar by Mike Fidler which is some kind of circle showing the gouldian lifecycle. I thought i had printed it but not sure where it is (must make a file for these things). I agree re reducing oily seeds at the moment. Too cold. And equally I am not sure that I would want to induce the heavy moult now. Would rather wait till September. The Save the gouldian site does have the sequence, which clearly needs to be adjusted depending on areas.

I notice that young Gouldians under harsher conditions will always start their moult sooner than more pampered ones. Any I catch out & put into holding aviaries which are more crowded and offer just seed, grit & water moult much sooner than those left in the breeding aviaries for longer.
