Is your finch sick or not well? Find out why.

Nathan,
Sounds more like a physical problem. Do you keep your finches in with the parrots perhaps?
Nathan Morleyy

No I relest it in my aviary and It couldn't fly so I took it out and I put it in the hospital cage.

is this one of the new stars nathan??

have the feathers been pulled out by the other stars in the box/cage u had them in????

mabey it already had the feathers missing when you got it from the pet shop? and u didnt notice it because it was in a small cage???

i had this happen to a gouldian that s STUPID CAT managed to claw at through one of my breeding cages and lost some flight feathers so had to keep it in a smaller cage to allow it to grow back then release back into the aviary.

Sadly this happens far too frequently.
Sometimes the person selling the birds is too rough and damages their wing or pulls some flight feathers out.
Maybe the bird damaged itself after you purchased it. I have seen birds damaging themselves because unkowing or uncaring people walking around with finches in wire canary cages and not a typical finch carrying box. Some birds can really carry one when put in a small carry cage.
Either way put it in a smaller cage with easy access to seed and water and leave it well alone after 2 weeks the feathers should have gown back or if it is a sprain then it should be able to fly. If it doesn't it has either badly damaged it wing or there a broken feathers still in the wing.
I have problems with Song Sparrows, they seem to suffer wing sprains very easily and take ages to regain full flight.
If you leave the bird in the aviary make sure it has easy access to seed and water and also place a reasonably sized piece of brush in the back corner so it can hide under or climb up and perch off the floor at night.

Feathers missing another with a broken leg, sounds like a Rat to me, where did you have the holding cage?
Nathan Morleyy

When in pit them in the aviary he looked fine, I had the holding cage in the house all the time.
