Are these nests much good ?

I have found that tris, BFPF, cutthroats, aberdeens and Javas use them frequently.

I just use to make a wire cylinder, fold one side over to block it off & fold half of the other side to allow for access, saves cutting out timber, & only take about a minuite to make.

My Emblemas are in that sort of wire cylinder only they have a cane nest inside it ...We did this in case the Quarrions got a bit nosy .
It is sealed at one end and just big enough for a finch the other .

Have made some of these myself but with a larger entrance hole.I have had painteds,diamonds and parrot finches use these.
I have started making some new nests similar in desigh out of 100mm PVC sewer pipe with half the pipe cut out of the base cut out with 5mm mesh inserted where the base has been cut out.
With the top still being enclosed provides cover and stops the other birds from crapping into the nest from above,also they are easy to wash

Deb there a great nest use them. I use everything now but they really do work a treat. Easy to clean also
