Did you get normal wire on the new avairy or thick wire? I bought my new avairy from them a few months back without actually seeing them, just ordered from a price list. I selected normal wire and was shocked by how thin it is. I would not risk putting anything bigger than a cockatiel in there.

Sam I have in my bigest aviary 7 gouldians , 12 zebra finches (8 are babys ) , 4 star finches , 1 blue faced parrot finch (It's mate died ) , 2 sociaty finches ( There technacilly my brothers) , 2 diamond doves , 1 cockatial , 1 red rump. I Can't find eney were to buy plumheades from there in none of the pet shops and I know one pet shop that sells long tails but the $100 a pair and i would like to buy them a bit cheaper than that.

Thanks Nathan
well, that pretty much answers your original question nathan. you don't get any new finches. sounds like you have too many for the amount of space you have already!

I Think I could fit more pairs in.

My Advice Nathan would be to concentrate on what speices you already have and use the money for buying an airlock instead of birds, you'll be thankful for it later when none escape.

Nahtna if you wanna keep the other species why not get rid off all your zebras. Start from scratch. By the way what happened to the red cheeked cordon pair that you bought?

The male died sadley and I moved the hen indoors.

Nathan ...please listen to what people suggest . When you ask a question on here it comes across that you have already made up your mind as to what you are going to do .
If you dont get the right answer you will argue or continue to ask in hope of someone reinforcing your original plans .
You state over and over that you are not a beginner yet you ask beginner questions . If you come down of your high horse and listen to what people say you will soon become a very capable bird breeder however this is not going to happen if you keep insisting that you know everything .

The other young ones in here take advice and even criticism with grace as they know that we have their best interests at heart .

My point is please join the programme , this forum and the people on here are the best and will always help YOU but it wont last long if you dont heed what they say .

Your a very pleasant young man , you just need to start from scratch .

Many, many, years ago, I remember a number of aviculturists promoted the attitude: Work out what finch you want, THEN, build the aviary to suit that finch. ie. some finches require more flying space, some a dense planted aviary, some are shy, others may prefer a colony.

I mean assess what birds you have , either reduce numbers of existing birds or stop buying birds .
I mean research your breeds and compatibility before buying .
I mean having somewhere to house new and sick birds apart from a aviary .
I mean not overcrowding .
I mean plan your aviary build .

Basically start over , ask appropriate questions , listen to advice given , use good advice to suit your situation and dont keep introducing birds , each time you do you change the dynamics of an already over stocked aviary .
