I'd be calling it a female, or Eclipse male Variegated Fairy Wren ;)

   Bow,Bow    And I'm very modest, too. My best guess is that it's a hen or out of colour White winged male. Going on the line separating the white and grey, no residual cheek patches or lores around the eye and the dark beak. Hens have a lighter or horn coloured beak. It probably also has a blueish tail.

Yes, yet again, go with Mr. Attenborough here ^

The Lores of the bird aren't dark, ruling out Variegated...

Well ive looked long and hard at the pic and back out bush today, My daughter has prickles in her but to prove we had a big day. Redthraot,Whiteface, and about a hundred wrens later i have to say, the bird in this pic has dark to black legs, not like all the juvenile,sub-ordinate,female wrens we saw. :problem: Heaps of Robins, wrens have a similar colouration as in the white down the front and colour on the back, but not quite like this bird. Still waiting for a definate response.

I still go with eclipse plumage Whitewing cock as the males have dark legs and beak that don't change colour when out of colour.
