Welcome back.
I had a 20 year break from keeping birds after my canary died of fright in my hand when I was seventeen.
I swore not to get another bird until I lived in my own house and could put them into a real aviary.
It took a while, but here I am, and I get more pleasure from my birds than I could ever have imagined. I hope I make them happy, too.
By the way, when some knocker sees your aviary and says something like: "I just can't stand seeing birds in cages", say:
"Isn't that funny, I don't like seeing grown men in offices, or dogs in cities. To each their own"
It does strike me, though, that all of these prison jokes come from men who maintain cages for creatures which represent a very real flight risk themselves. Coincidence?
