Superb parrots don't require a class 2 licence my grandfather breeds them and he only has a class 1 licence and I have seen them for sale in pet shops and class 2 licence birds cannot be sold in pet shops so they are class 1.

Pale headed rosellas are very beautiful birds and very nice but they are very aggressive and will tear apart anything they can get their beaks on so they would defiantly have to be kept on their own or they might kill there aviary mates.

Yes we know that and Hayden knows this too as he already has some experience with Rosellas ...this is why I agreed that they might be a good choice for him.

If they are overly aggressive at breeding time towards the mate wing clipping will slow them down enough for the girl to get away and of course they are housed as 1 pair to each aviary .

Nathan, you are correct, they have been put back to a class 1, I had them when the new sytem was bought in they were placed on a class 2 because of there rarity in the wild, but have been changed back, Chestnuts Long-tails were take off at the same time, but were placed back on so they could take Rainbow Lorikeets off the list.

Nathan, have you kept them? I had them for many years in with the finches quite successfully. Only issue was I had to protect the finch nests with a bit of shrubbery, the rosellas will chew anything they can. Oh, and the year they didn't breed was the last year I kept zebbies. At the end of the season I took the almost 1m long log down and the zebbies had filled it to the brim and nested in the top . The zebbies went immediatley and my seed bill never looked back . If the rosellas get grumpy it's due to a lack of space, mine were in a 2.4x2.7m flight.

I spent hours looking at a pair at Ballarat yesterday, only reason why I didn't bring them home was the only "spare" aviary I have big enough has softbills and I didn't want the rosellas destroying any nests the softbills may make.

Yes I have kept them,
I have kept them with King parrots, red wings, princess parrots, superb parrots, port lincon parrots and the rossellas would try and kill all of them so we had to lock them up in there own flight.

The aviary I had them in was 50m2. So it was massive so over crowding was not a problem.
