hey guys i finally have a new silver baby, so i think?? correct me if im wrong.....
here are the pics of the youngster.
also noticed he has no teardrop......
here are the pics of his other sibling, (there are also two others like him) that looks normal, but im assuming they are split to silver???
Greys cannot be Split for Silver. They are both Dominant. Could also be a Dilute Blue. You will have to wait until in completely colours up to tell if it is a Silver.
Last season when i had my Dilute Blues breeding i noticed a few that were lighter in feather colour, i reckon they were Silvers i was going to ring them but didnt and turned out a very poor coloured Silver which resembles the Dilute Blue. So its hard to get the perfect Silver with the White Cheeks. Good Luck.

yeah im thinking the father is dilute blue, not sure.
its odd because when you get closer to his head it gets darker and the closer you get to his tail it gets lighter. or is that just normal??
Looks like a Dilute Blue. Our Blues are washed out in the back and wings hard to get that head colour in the whole body. I was told that also Dilute Blues will be dark in the barring on the chest and Silvers are alot lighter in the barring. Try and always put ur Blue to a Grey you will flush out a Silver now and then. All 3 are Dominant so you only need 1 to pass on the gene.

Wow. Well the father of this baby may have pied in it, his great grandfather was fairly pied but as each generation continued there was less and less pied in the babies that were pied.
