If he has a cage full of normals, i'd reckon that would be a good start. You can ask him how he knows that they are pure, some wild ones might have got stuck in his mates aviary a couple of years ago!

A Qld breed was advertising some on Petlink many months back being surplus/offspring from wild caught birds (legally) from a scientific study.

Good luck

Most or all Zebra Clubs will have Pure Normals. We paid $50-$60p for good size Normals but you will still get something pop up now and then. I have Pure Normal Fawns as i know what they have come from they are not/cannnot be Split for anything.
Breeding Show Zebra Finches, Blue Gouldians, Pied Orange Breast.

 how can it be pure normal fawn? Surely it is fawn or normal but not both? I seem to remember it was that way when they used zebbies to me genetics at Uni in the 80s (after we studied drosophila of course  ).
