Whilst on the forum I noticed a signature that caught my eye. I found this impressive- Always I hearer only? at no time to deposit? Please correct if needed.
I myself struggle with the correct use of the English language, I had to use a translator for this one, sounds like we have an academic, teacher or he is just old school taught student amongst us.
PS I am not trying to ridicule you, just I am envious of others with a second language albeit an old one.

I wish I spoke Latin properly, but unfortunately not.
It is the first line of Juvenal's first satire, and could be translated: Must I always be a listener? Never get a word in?
It has been directed ironically at me in the past, because I am a wordy opinionated loudmouth.
I put it on because I am rereading the satires now, in parallel translation so I can bash through the Latin and maybe learn some.
I was a bit concerned I would seem a total nob, and maybe I was right.... (i.e: a bit of ridicule would probably be fair)
I am neither an academic nor a teacher; I fear my profession is a little less worthy.
At highschool in 1988 I asked to learn Latin (we were offered French and Japanese): I was curtly informed that it was a dead language which would be of no use to me in the future.
At university I wanted to do it as an extra subject but was told it would distract from my 'real' studies.
Funnily enough, I now use Latin (disguised as scientific English) almost every day in my working life, which is why I try to learn some every now and again.
BTW, Juvenal is well worth a read for those who aren't familiar with him, and is strikingly relevant in this debauched and degraded age in which we live.

Yours signature still sounds great, if only I could say the words correctly, and now with more added meaning. Never heard of Juvenal's first satire! I put this down as something new learnt to today.
