The much longed for day has finally arrived. One pair of superb wrens and one pair of crimson chats are now in quarantine in the birdroom     . Piccys as soon as the birds stand still long enough to photograph them  .

Fed them some of Gerry's free maggots (as well as crickets and softfood mix) and the wrens pigged themselves out on the maggots and fought over the crickets. Chats happily took to the madeira cake and insecta pro mix but ate some mealworms and crickets too.

Wow, excellent! I'd love to get some at some stage, so I'm feeling a tad jealous.

How long are you keeping them in quarantine? And why, Aren't they going to be the only birds in the aviary?

Just be careful with wrens in quarantine for too long - its close proximity and thats just asking for someone to cop a beating, even within established pairs. Get them feeding, then get them out.
