Just thought I'd make myself aquainted!

First post!

Been keeping birds since I was about 12- mainly aust parrots, and after a hiatus during my teens and early 20's (women and booze took priority!) have been back into birds last 4 years or so.
Live in rental property so is kind of limiting to what and how much I can keep (there's always something else i want!) but keep aust parrots and finches- red brows, yellow- billed long tails, black throats- diggles, diamonds and masked.
Live in Melbourne's Dandenong ranges so have stuck to finches that build roosting nests as winter is quite cold and bleak with little to no daytime sun and temperatures rarely reaching double figures- learnt the hard way last winter with more than 50% of my finches dropping off the perch!
Anyway, looking forward to a chin-wag, establishing new contacts and gaining more knowledge.
Fingers crossed for a bumper season this year guys- although I reckon the weather has a fair say in how it plays out!
Later,
Regards
Scott

Hi Scott welcome to the forum and I understand about the cold weather here in Vic, and do agree weather plays a great part in how breeding goes. Hope you enjoy.
