Looking around the yard this morning I realised that I have no birds left, apart from a pet cockatoo. I sold the last of them at the RFS sale yesterday which including a lot of aviary accessories. The feeling/urge to buy new finches at the sale was extreme. When looking around I had to keep my hands firmly in my pockets away from the wallet. The bird bug bites hard and temptations were everywhere.
I think I need to see my doctor as I am having withdrawal symptoms and this internet fix, AFF, is not working.
Sad day- just sold off the last of my finches

I have just sold my home and I am in temporary rental for 6 months or so. The good news is I have just bought, exchanging contracts, a house in Port Macquarie. Probably move up next year sometime.

What you do is you get a calender and start marking off the days.
And If someone asks why there is a big F on your calender it's the day you buy your next finches.
About a month after you move in, so you have had time to get the avairy (first one) ready.

Living in Port Macquarie will be my early sea change in life. The river, port and beaches are great bonuses but the mild climate is why we are moving to Port. I hope the finches breed better compared with the extremes in weather we have in Wagga. The climate is better in Port than Wagga, milder temps and regular rain fall, which just happen to be a finchos paradise. Only downside is that I will have a very small yard, only enough for a couple of aviaries.
