I know I've advised against it, but am currently H/R a nearly week old BBBQ, the cock left it behind, as it has trouble walking, the other two are powering, & this little fella couldn't keep up, & one of the kids found it this morning so had no choice :x , but so far it seems to be picking up. It will only be feed when the Littles are feed so 4 feeds a day between 6 am & 9pm.

But the good news is that the other male is sitting on 3 eggs, the bad news is I've run out of cocks, I've only got 2 & the female is calling regularly through the day. But hopefully when the first batch of young are old enogh to feed by themselves I will be able to move them & put the female back in with him before she lays again in about 2 weeks time.

Sounds cute - a lot of work I know, but I'm sure it will be rewarding.

They are cute. Almost invisible when lay flat on the ground in amongst leaf litter.I lost one one day only to realise i accidently trod on it on the way in. Good luck with te chick VR, i found them a very easy species to breed but struggled to keep chicks alive past 10 days.Got a dozen or so to maturity then bailed out in sheer frustration as the mortality rate of the chick was so high.
