How to breed clear back Australian yellow gouldians

I'll be getting my new australian yellows in a few weeks and was thinking how I would breed the clear yellow backs as I prefer them being so called 'pure.'
They are paired up as split australian yellow to coloured Australian yellow (2 pair)
Would I have to breed two coloured australian yellows together in order to get clear yellow?? Or will I get clear yellow out of a split and coloured??

I have never had the aus yellow mutation so i could be totally wrong here, so please corrections....

when the aussie yellow is fledged it has the mottled back? then after a year it molts out to the clear yellow?

iv noticed sooo much lately the interest in Aus Yellows from members and other breeders.... alot wanting to buy. any one else noticed this in there state?

I certainly have, in fact I've had 3 people ask me about them and where they can get them. And that's where AFF comes in.
But about the yellows, I thought that you could breed completely white babies that turn into completely yellow birds instead of the mottling. Well I've seen pictures of it anyways. And also of ones with heaps of mottling.

With the clear Aus Yellows, my understanding is that nearly all start out with mottled backs when young & only some ever reach clear yellow back after a couple of seasons. If I was trying to breed more clear backed ones I would only mate clear backed to clear backed (including splits from clear backed ones) & see if that results in more clear ones & if it appears from an earlier age.

purple = european yellow
white = australian yellow
some white breasts are just double factor yellow though making it hard to tell the difference between aust and european. well for me anyway

Aus Yellow can **only** have white breast
Euro Yellow can have white **or** lilac **or** purple breast.

I have some Euro Yellow with lilac or white breasts and the olive wash on the back seen on a purple chest disappears completely leaving a canary yellow bird. This is why the geneticist in me keeps arguing that the white chest gene somehow influences back colour as well but it's not obvious in the green for whatever reason. Even a SF WB can be very clear yellow, especially in the hen.

As to breeding all yellow Aus Yellows, your only hope is o treat it like any other characteristic, such as size, shape, head form and so on, continually choose lighter and lighter pairs. If that doesn't work then it may well be like turtle shell or other such characteristics where every bird is different and it can never be eliminated. My gut tells me the latter is unlikely though but that doesn't explain why the action of the gene is "imperfect" in the first place.

When the "pure" Aus yellow happens expect squillions of WB Euro Yellows to be sold as Aus Yellows to unsuspecting buyers when there is no visual difference. Keep the mottling there for the good of the breeding community I reckon.

Excuse my ignorance but which is the preferred mutation and are there values similar.
Come to think of it what are they likely cost.Just curious as I gave a couple of pairs away to a youngster
last week.Seeing face light up was worth it.
