Cordons are quite secretive but one of the ways I know they have young is by the dedication they have to live food - I am not 100% sure but I believ the young, when old enough, call back and forth to their parents just like mature birds....so I have never heard any chick sounds that you hear from say, Goulds or Stars, but you will hear them....you just won't know it....

Cordon babies do make calling noises to parents when their hungry like all other young, but the calling from the babies to parents is very faint and can only be heard if you are right next to the nest and all other birds are quite. This isn't a good way to find out you have young as there is a good chance that the parents will abandon their clutch, I only stumbled across this by accident and I was lucky that they didn't leave the young. Live food would be a safer bet that you have young, when parents consume large amounts and then keep going to their nest I would say you would have a young at least, but not always true the only sure way to know is when you see young on a perch.
