wow, great pictures!! I love the number of little button quail ther were there, as well as the Red Chesteds how much did the RCBQs go for?
I notice it says that Little buttons are good in colonies - is that true? I always thought the hens were aggressive to to other hens.

All the Little Button lots were 2 cocks & 1 hen, the info in the catalogue said they do better with more cocks in the colony, don't know if that true as never had them.

They do better if you have more cockbirds as all Turnix group differ from King Quail as the female calls the male in(booming)
lays the clutch of 3 or 4 eggs then moves on to find another male.
We bred far more when the hen layed and the male started to sit we moved her into another aviary which had another male waiting and the process was repeated. At times we found the females would be disruptive and even kill chicks if left in the same aviary in particular if it was smallish.
