I would also be careful when putting crimsons in with other finches as the crimson finch has a reputation of being a bully to other crimsons males and females and at times other finches. Plenty of shrub/bush/plants are required for hens to escape from the harassing cock. What other finches were you putting in with the crimson and how much space are they going to have?

A cage NO. an medium to large aviary would depend on what finches you have.
My crimsons, 1 pr per aviary, were housed with a colony of masks, colony of diggles and a colony of weavers, but the size of the aviary made a difference.
