on spur of moment brought a pair of tri coloured nuns yesterday,they look to me a bit like societys .I have them as a pair at the moment but im wondering if I wanted to put them elsewhere would they be likely to breed with societys or spices?.I read the May newsletter article and it only mentions the other 2 munias as a problem

I can't think of one Asiatic Munia that will not cross and in a lot of cases cross freely.

mm thanks thought so they look so similar ,they are different personalitys no interest in a nest like the societys but I thought if spices can mix with societys I bet tri nuns could

its the body shape that makes me think of societys.They are proper tri coloured nuns so thats ok I looked on google.I notice they react to societys calling too so they are related I think.The zebs calling they ignore but societys get their interest.nice photos on that site but I cannot see my guys im going blind or something.
I was reading that other post by rach on the white breasts.
These guys are a nice pair apparently they have nested before but the guy who owned them died and all his birds were sold ,the only thing is I think they are used to an avery they are not wild about a cage but have settled down now

On that site they are referred to as a black headed,They tend to like to nest up high and build their own nest,I have a few pairs on eggs at the moment,see how they go.

thanks for that,interesting I will give them some parrot seed to try.I was a bit worried as they didnt eat for 24 hrs but then last night they were enjoying a millet spray and fresh grass seed this afternoon.I brought them a cane ball for a nest and put dried grass in but no interest so far so I will get them some tee tree tommorow if the rain eases so they have some privasy,at the moment they are in a large budgie cage with 3 perchs and a towel over half of it which is not great .At least they seem to be calm now I was a bit worried at first as it was clear they are used to an avery and somewhere to hide
