I highly reccomend Walsrode. For us birdo's you ideally would want 2 days to see it all properly. If you have non-birdo's along, at least make sure you have the entire day there.

Madhatter, I was reading an article that said Walsrode has become a bit outclassed? the exact words were: "the enclosures beginning to show their age". I would still love to go though ;)

Yeah, it's had some tough years and is a little past it's prime, but it's still the biggest bird park in europe and in species terms, the second biggest in the world, after Jurong. Perhaps not the best time of year to see it, but I doubt you will be dissappointed.

Hi all :D we haven't put in much else yet, but we have decided that we will try and do some bird watching as we travel! :D Spain is the most - planned of the areas to visit as yet, and we have decided to try and twitch the Little Bustard on our way through spain :D. The Little Bustard, also known as "the phantom rasberry blower" because of it's call, has got to be one of my favourite birds and I am looking forward to trying to twitch it! We will also be looking for vultures, Lammergier and the Great Bustard as we travel through spain. We are also considering Monfrague national Park, my family for it's views and me for it's birds of prey :D
I also want to go to Caceres because apparently you can see Blue Rollers there!
I'm sure I'll be able to convince mum to let me do some twitching on the way through areas as well.
